The Youth Against Tribalism in Africa (YATIA-Africa) along with several Civil Society Organizations attend a two day capacity building training on National Budget Monitoring in Monrovia City, Republic of Liberia.
The training was held from September 21-22, 2022. It was meant to provide additional knowledge and skills for community based Organizations, Civil Society actors and media practitioners in Grand Bassa, Margibi and Montserrado Counties.
The training was organized by BudgIT-Liberia with funding from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).The training was meant to ensure citizens' participation in the formulation of the national budget at the community level.
During the training, it was mentioned that when the voices of citizens are reflected in the national budget, it will give them an added advantage in the identification of needed projects in their counties and communities.
At the end of the training, a county budget monitoring committee was setup in order to monitor government funded projects in the county.
